WILSON DYSLEXIA PRACTITIONER

      

      I have been a special education teacher in Milltown School District since 2005. I began my career here in the Integrated Preschool program at Parkview and then continued with the Self Contained program for 10 years. From there, I went to 4th grade to co-teach and returned to Parkview in 2019 and began the resource room. This year, I am currently working with students as a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner for struggling readers. I truly love being a part of the Milltown community!

 
The Wilson Reading System is an Orton-Gillingham based structured literacy program for struggling readers. It is researched based program that a provides a daily routine that provides repeated practice until the student reaches mastery.

Welcome!  My name is Merrie Chasan, I grew up right here  in Milltown and have many family members still here in town. My great-grandmother actually holds the "key" to Milltown that was presented to her on her 100th birthday back in 1986!  I am married with 2 grown daughters. I love to read, exercise, and go to the beach.
