This year, 3rd grade students will

- Learn to play the recorder

This year, 2nd grade students will
- Learn about Jazz
- Learn about African Instruments/music
- Singing Techniques
- Sing songs in other languages
- Terms and concepts such as: Home Tone, Cadence, Tempo, Accompaniment, Call and Response and Dynamics
- Learn to read, write, sing and play on bells notes written on the staff using the solfege singing system
- Learn about Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf
This year, 1st graders will
- Learn about Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker
- Learn about Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals
- Learn Beat vs Rhythm
- Singing Techniques
- Learn about beat, rhythms, reading, writing and singing solfege syllables, improvisation and melodic intervals

- Rhythm Band
- Musical Concepts: Upward vs Downward, Fast vs Slow, Loud vs Soft, High vs Low Pitches, Phrases and Steady Beat
- Musical Stories
- Circle Games
