Reopening Transition Plan - Extended Day

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As a component of the district’s spring reopening transition plan, an extended day will be provided at a limited capacity to eligible students at Parkview and Joyce Kilmer Schools beginning the week of March 15th. There will be no fee for students to participate in the extended day program.The extended day will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from the time of early dismissal to the approximate time of a regular dismissal day at each school.

Students will be situated in the school all purpose room (APR) and supervised by school staff members. Seating will be individually partitioned to allow for social distancing. Lunch will be offered as part of the extended day program at no additional cost. Students who participate in the extended day program will be permitted and encouraged to use their Chromebooks to continue their learning in the afternoon. During the month of April, JK extended day students will remain in the APR while virtually attending their required afternoon classes.
Parents who are interested in applying for the extended day program for their child should complete the form at the following link: Extended Day Registration Form   Eligibility of students will be prioritized based on date received, and considered based on greatest need for supervision and support among those interested.

Enrollment at each school is limited, and this initial registration period will be open until Friday, March 5, 2021. You will be contacted during the week of March 8th to confirm your child’s enrollment or placement on a waiting list. Another registration period may be announced pending the number of registrations received and those on a waiting list.
