Weekly Update from Mr. Siegel

Good morning Parkview Families,

Here are some reminders taking us into the weekend:

  • On Monday, we welcome back the A group students in grades kindergarten through third grade.
  • Wednesday is a remote day for all and on Thursday, we welcome back our B students.
  • Next Friday, February 12, schools are closed for a teacher in-service day.
  • If your child is absent, it is imperative that you call the attendance line. (732) 214-2360 option 1, 1

A message from Nurse Mormando:
The NJDOH advises that parents are notified each time an individual at the school tests positive for COVID-19 and if their child is identified as a close contact to the positive individual. A thorough protocol is followed by administration and the nurse that involves discussion with staff and/or students and observation of classroom spaces to determine who may have been within 6 feet of the positive individual for 15 or more minutes over the course of 24 hours. Further consultation with county health department officials also transpires. If you do not receive notification of your child being identified as a close contact at the time the school notice is sent informing of a case in the school, then the criteria was not met for your child to be considered exposed to the COVID-19 positive person. There is no further action indicated on your part or notification on the part of the school that is necessary.

As always, continue to monitor your child for COVID related symptoms. If your child is exhibiting symptoms, please keep your child at home and contact your school nurse. As we begin to re-enter school, please remember to fill out the daily healthy screening form before coming to school.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and patience. We are very excited to see the kids next week!
Have a great weekend!
