Weekly Update from Mr. Siegel

Good Morning Parkview Families,

I hope everyone is well!

Today concludes our fully virtual learning model for all. Beginning Monday, we will be stepping into our Hybrid learning model. For specific detail, please reference my Parent Square post that was sent on Tuesday which included a calendar, school day schedule, map, and our step-in details.

A few reminders -
  • Next week, we are welcoming back all of our preschoolers, students with IEPs, ESL students, as well as select students with 504 accommodations - we are so excited to have you back with us!

  • Come rain or come shine, and right now the forecast shows rain, the drop off loop will be open at 8:10am-8:25am for students in kindergarten-third grade. We will be taking every student's temperature that goes through the loop.

  • Also, beginning 8:10am, we will have two stations set up (on the path and by the crosswalk on Violet Terrace) to take student temperatures as well. Please do not arrive to school prior to 8:10am as the loop and these temperature-check stations will not be open yet, and it is imperative to check temperatures before lining up.

  • Parents will have to complete a daily health screening form prior to arriving on campus. Our temperature check is a second safety measure. In the event that a child has a 100 degree or higher temperature, they will have to go home for the day and Nurse Mormando will be in touch.

  • On nice weather days, the aforementioned map outlines where students will line up by grade. There will be cones set up with teacher's names on them and safely distanced marks on the floor for students to stand on while waiting on line.

  • In the event of inclement weather, students will be going to their classrooms to wait inside for the school day to begin. Classroom back doors will not be opening prior to 8:10am. If you arrive after 8:31am, the teachers are instructed not to let anyone in. Please go through the main entrance to sign in late and have your child's temperature taken.

  • Attendance - please note that if your child is not physically present in school on their assigned day, they will be marked absent. The class simulcast will still be taking place and your child may follow along, however, the day will still be counted as an absence.

I've attached a document to this message - Parkview's door numbers to reference in the event of inclement weather and for arrival/dismissal.

Have a great weekend!
