I went to college at Montclair State University. I graduated with highest honors in 2010 and earned a degree in Family and Childhood Studies with a Concentration in Early & Middle Childhood Education (grades K-5)

I love to learn new things, especially about teaching reading, and am currently a student in the Rutgers University Reading Specialist Masters Program. This summer I had a wonderful opportunity to be a teaching assistant for a graduate level class on Children's Literature!

I student taught first grade in West Caldwell and fell in love with first grade! It is such a fun and rewarding grade to teach. I then taught first grade at Lincoln School in New Brunswick for six years where I was named Teacher of the Year for the 2015-2016 school year. I am thrilled to be entering my second year at Parkview and my 8th year teaching fabulous first graders!

I grew up close by in Somerset and enjoyed spending a lot of time in Milltown where my grandma and cousins live. I have many great childhood memories including trick-or-treating and celebrating the 4th of July in this great town!

One of my favorite things to do is read. I also love building my classroom library, you can never have too many books! Some of my favorite children's book authors are Mo Willems, David Shannon, and Kevin Henkes.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. I have two younger brothers named Ryan and Tim. Some of my favorite places to go are the beach, Yankee games, and Broadway plays. I also love exercising, cooking healthy recipes, and swimming in my pool on warm summer days.
